Executive Coaching Services: Sector-Specialist Development for Hospitality Leaders

Executive coaching services delivered by consultants who have run the businesses they now coach in. Outcome-anchored. Retained.

Removing what’s in the way so leaders can move

Coaching services that shift the P&L through the leader who runs it.

Executive coaching services for senior hospitality leaders are not a workshop, a curriculum, or a series of general purpose conversations about leadership. Instead, it is disciplined work aimed at removing the specific barrier stopping this leader, right now, in this operating context, from performing at their full capacity. Consequently, Cornerstone’s job is to help remove that barrier.

Our executive coaching services serve senior hospitality operators, corporate executives. Furthermore, boards through structured six to twelve month engagements, delivered by consultants who have carried operating responsibility inside the sector the coachee is leading in.

What stands in the way: what coaching actually removes

Our metaphor made concrete: the specific barrier, the specific move, the specific multiplier.

THE MECHANISM STEP 1 Name the obstacle 360-degree baseline Written development plan Behavioral targets set STEP 2 Address the obstacle Two-hour sessions x 2 / month On-call access between Anchored to plan every time STEP 3 Multiplier lands Day 90, 180, 365 reviews Short, form 360 pulse P&L moves through the leader “Remove the nail and the leader can walk better and do way more things.” Florian Kittler

The multiplier and the nail

If you can optimize your leaders and make them from good to better or to great, then the outcome will be a multiplier of what you invest for coaching. Because once they have overcome this, they can then perform freely without barriers and can do things.
It is like when you have a nail in your foot and you remove the nail, then you can perform better, you can walk better, and you can do way more things. So we are the one helping to remove that.

Our framing lands where the sponsor’s question usually does: how do you measure this. In short, the multiplier answer is honest: senior leadership coaching moves the leader’s operating capacity. Furthermore, the leader’s operating capacity is the leverage that moves the P&L, the team, the succession bench. In addition, the strategic decisions the leader is asked to make.

The two client models

B2C, the leader engages for their own development

Firstly, a senior operator, VP or C-suite executive engages Cornerstone directly, funding the coaching themselves. Common triggers: a promotion to prepare for, a stall to break, a specific decision that deserves a sharper thinking partner.

B2B, the company engages to help leaders succeed

Similarly, companies engage coaches to help newly promoted or newly hired leaders succeed, to help two cultures blend after a merger, or to develop the executive committee. Typical triggers: newly promoted flagship GM, regional VP taking on new geography, post-acquisition merger, portfolio owner developing the bench.

What our executive coaching services cover

The five executive coaching services Cornerstone delivers for senior hospitality leaders.

1. Individual executive coaching services

Structured 1:1 work with a senior consultant across six to twelve months. Written development plan, 360-degree baseline, sessions twice a month plus on-call access, milestone reviews at day 90, 180 and 365. Core of what we do.

2. Team coaching for executive committees

Group engagements that develop the executive committee, the corporate leadership team, or the property leadership team. Individual coaching sharpens the leader; team coaching aligns the collective around a shared operating model.

3. New-role transition coaching (first 90 days)

Focused engagement for a newly promoted or newly hired senior leader through the first three months. Anchored to the 90-day plan, the stakeholder map, the specific handover risks the leader inherits.

4. Merger and integration coaching

Post-acquisition or post-merger coaching that supports leaders holding two cultures during integration. Combines individual coaching for the CEO and integration leadership plus team coaching for the combined executive committee.

5. Board coaching

Coaching for board chairs, committee chairs and non-executive directors, often around CEO succession, executive team accountability. Furthermore, the strategic narrative the board shapes with the CEO.

How Cornerstone executive coaching services run

Stage 1 · Week 1
Chemistry session & Mandate confirmation

An open 60-minute conversation, we listen, the leader shares, and both sides decide if the fit is right. The coaching mandate is confirmed in writing: who the sponsor is, what the engagement is for, how success will be judged and who sees what.

Stage 2 · Week 2
Diagnostic phase

Wheel-of-life mapping, structured psychometric assessment, and a focused conversation about where the leader is now and where they want to be in twelve months.

Stage 3 · Week 2 to 3
Goal contract

Three to five named outcomes the leader is committing to, with the success markers we will use to measure them. When hired by the company, agreed with the sponsoring CEO or CHRO and align the goals; when hired by the individual, owned by the leader alone.

Stage 4
Coaching cadence

Typically, two-hour session twice a month plus on-call access to the coach between sessions when something live calls for it.

Stage 5 · Month 2 to 11
Mid-engagement review

At month six, a structured stocktake. What has shifted, what has not, what the remainder of the engagement should focus on.

Stage 6 · Day 90, 180, 365
Milestone reviews and runway plan

Three formal reviews; day 90, 180 and 365 pulse quantifies movement versus baseline; clean handover.

What our sponsors and coachees say

★★★★★

“The nail metaphor stuck. Two sessions in I knew what mine was. Six months in the exec committee ran the numbers differently because I ran the meeting differently. Multiplier is real.”
